Season 1

Season 1

Visualise a blend of Men in Black and Get Smart, fighting odd creatures with all kinds of nifty gadgetry – And you’ll get The Middleman, the hit TV series in the US now presented to you by AXN BEYOND!

The show is based on the Viper Comics series created by Javier Grillo-Marxuach (“Lost”, “Medium”) and Les McClaine, presenting an all new reality that is sure to inject some excitement into your daily life!

Natalie Morales, who has guest starred in Miami Vice and CSI: Miami, plays Wendy Watson. An art school graduate who makes ends meet by flitting from one temp job to another, her monotonous life changed one day when she is saved from a monster attack by the Middleman.

The Middleman is Matt Keeslar (“The Last Days of Disco”, “Scream 3”), a poker-faced agent trained in martial arts and armed with high-tech alien gadgetry. Impressed by Wendy ’s calm confrontation of a deranged lab animal, he starts grooming her into the next heroine to save the world. Hence begins Wendy’s initiation into a warped, surreal world of talking apes, trout-craving zombies and 100 Mexican wrestlers in a sandy Aztec pyramid!

If that isn’t weird enough, the series also includes other tongue-in-cheek pop culture references that you’re bound to enjoy – think Die Hard, Ghostbusters, and even Star Wars!

Together with an android assistant Ida (Mary Pat Gleason, “I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry”) who is stuck in an irreversible ‘domineering schoolmarm’ mode, the Middleman and Wendy Watson encounter strange incidents in queerer landscapes, even in the underworld literally!

Watch out for The Middleman who fights evil so you don’t have to, first and exclusively on AXN BEYOND!
